ELD (Exclusive Leather Design) is a small family-run shop, owned by the Maltese designer Joe Callus and is currently the only leather shop in Malta specialising in made-to-measure and custom-made leather wear. Our first shop was opened in 1986 in a small side street in the shopping heart of Sliema. Thereon two more shops were opened: one in Tower Road (Sliema) and another one in Soverato-Italy. Although both openings proved successful we then felt that we could better serve our customers by concentrating our attention to one outlet and hence both shops were later on closed and in the year 2000 the business moved back to the re-furbished shop in High Street, Sliema.
We specialise in made-to-measure leather clothing. Award-winning designer Joe Callus will design your leather jacket, trousers, skirt or fur coat and manufacture it from beginning to end using top quality natural materials. Leather lasts a life-time and is more eco-friendly than artificial vegan leather (PU leather) - which is nothing more than plastic. Unlike clothing made of faux leather, real leather clothing can be repaired, adjusted, cleaned and re-modelled, even after decades of use!
During these years we have satisfied hundreds of local and foreign customers and we still strive to keep that same high quality and originality that was initially intended when the shop was opened. Besides made-to-measure, ELD offers a vast selection of original ready made leather garments and fur coats, attaché cases, briefcases, designer hand bags, leather belts and wallets—all imported from cities famous for their leather handicrafts like Florence, Milan, Barcelona, Oporto and Paris.
